The GAMES Project is a European initiative running for 24 months (launched in April 2022) aimed at improving gender equality in key leadership positions within National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and their member organizations. The project seeks to promote structural changes in governance, enhance understanding of existing cultural barriers, and encourage NOCs to collaborate with their federations to achieve sustainable change.

The consortium consists of 8 NOCs (Belgium, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, North Macedonia, and Turkey) under the coordination of the EOC EU Office, the EU representation office of the European Olympic Committees (EOC), with the support of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The project is funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Sport programme.

BOIC has committed to developing a national action plan (available via the link below) to improve gender equality within its organization and to organize a national event to launch this plan.

Main Activities

  • Survey among NOCs and several federations to gain more insight into the position of women in these organizations.
  • Analysis of the data and publication of the results.
  • Development of a national action plan for each participating country.
  • Organization of a national event in each participating country.
