Why protect Olympic properties ?

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) holds all rights to the Olympic Games and Olympic properties. These rights are likely to generate income to provide material support for efforts to organize and publicize the Olympic Games, and to assist International Federations (IFs), National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and athletes in their preparations for the Olympic Games. It is in the best interests of the Olympic Movement and the constituent parties who benefit from these revenues that all Olympic rights and properties are afforded the best possible protection.

Responsibility of the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee (BOIC)

The Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee is responsible to the IOC for the protection of rights of the Olympic Games and Olympic property in Belgium. The BOIC has a legal obligation to the IOC and its marketing partners to protect Olympic property from unauthorized use.
