In 2015 and 2016, the BOIC, together with 11 other NOCs and organizations, participated in the European two-year SIGGS project. SIGGS was coordinated by the EOC EU Office and stands for “Support the Implementation of Good Governance in Sport.” The project helps sports federations and NOCs implement and comply with good governance principles through consultancy and management tools. The universal principles of good governance of the Olympic Movement and the European Union serve as a reference.

The main outcome of the SIGGS project is a self-assessment platform for sports federations and Olympic Committees. By completing a questionnaire on this platform, sports organizations can receive tailored advice based on their specific needs. The platform also includes a wide range of good practice examples and useful tools.

This platform is regularly updated and will remain freely available in the coming years. The SIGGS platform can be accessed via the website: https://www.sportgovernance-eoceuoffice.eu/siggsself-evaluation-tool-governance-sport
