Vision & Mission of the Team Belgium Sports Psychology Network

Contribute to high-quality services in the field of mental health and sport psychology, before, during, and after the Olympic Games. We aim to achieve this by fostering greater collaboration among sport psychologists in developing performance-enhancing outputs tailored to the Olympic context, aligned with the needs of athletes, coaches, and/or members of multidisciplinary teams, thereby gradually reaching more athletes.

  1. Promoting access to mental health and sport psychology services

Ensure that our services are well-known and accessible to everyone, that the best match is found between athlete and sport psychologist, and that basic tools are available for every Olympic athlete and their coach.

  2. Bringing together and supporting sport psychologists and mental trainers working within the Olympic context

Create opportunities for colleagues to get to know each other and ensure that the most suitable individuals are involved in the joint development of sport psychology outputs, and that these outputs are shared and disseminated through them.

  3. Developing high-quality and scientifically grounded initiatives and outputs for our target groups

By mapping the needs of the Olympic performance environment and keeping up with scientific developments, we aim to develop new tools and initiatives tailored to this specific context. In doing so, we want to promote a way of collaborating, thinking together, and openly sharing within our field.
